Things look quiet here. But I've been doing a lot of blogging at
dan.langille.org because I prefer WordPress now.
Not all my posts there are FreeBSD related.
I am in the midst of migrating The FreeBSD Diary over to WordPress
(and you can read about that here).
Once the migration is completed, I'll move the FreeBSD posts into the
new FreeBSD Diary website.

Installation
|
|
This article will hopefully contain everything you need to know about installing
FreeBSD. Or at least contain a reference to it. This document doesn't show you
how to install FreeBSD. Rather, shows you the information you need for the
installation. Once you've had a look at this stuff. You should then be able to
do the actual installation. |

FreeBSD Installation Previews
|
| http://www.freebsd.org/~rpratt/ is
simply *the* best place to start. If you have never installed FreeBSD, I recommend
that you go through these pages and see the actual process. Randy Pratt has gone to
considerable work to document what you will see and what to do at each step. It is
far more detailed than anything I have done. Randy provides Install Preview for FreeBSD 3.1
and Install Preview for FreeBSD
2.2.7. Use the one most appropriate for the version of FreeBSD you want to
install. |

Creating Boot Floppies
|
| This is often a confusing exercise. And I've had to make them more than once.
So here's how I did it. |

FreeBSD Handbook
|
| http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/
contains more information than you will ever need. If you're installing or
upgrading, read this first before you do anything else. |
